Reduced Range and Charge Level
BMS_a027 indicates that the Battery Management System detected a severe state-of-charge (SoC) imbalance, brick voltage deviation, or open sense-wire condition across the 800V structural battery pack. The vehicle limits max charge capacity and restricts regenerative braking to prevent thermal runaways and dendrite propagation.
Heatbed Temperature Sensor Malfunction
The mainboard detected an open-circuit, short-circuit, or anomalous NTC thermistor resistance reading from the heatbed assembly. The firmware tripped a safety shutdown to prevent thermal runaway, frequently linked to fatigue, crushing, or strain damage in the heatbed cable harness.
High Voltage MPPT Bus Overvoltage
Error code F007 indicates a hardware-level safety lockout on the high-voltage solar MPPT input. The internal DC bus detected open-circuit or operational voltage exceeding the rated 450VDC threshold, triggering gate drive shutdown to prevent catastrophic MOSFET/IGBT breakdown.
BMS High Voltage Isolation Fault
BMS_a063 trips when the Battery Management System detects high-voltage leakage to the chassis ground dropping below the 500 ohms/volt threshold (under ~400kΩ on the 800V architecture), triggering pyrofuse/contactor lockouts to prevent electric shock.
Inverter Instantaneous Overcurrent Fault
Error L5 indicates the outdoor inverter PCB detected instantaneous hardware overcurrent across the compressor drive circuit (IPM). This protection trips when current draw exceeds safe thresholds, caused by compressor winding failure, mechanical seizure, or shorted IGBT switches.
Steer-by-Wire Redundancy Degraded
Alert DI_a201 indicates a loss of redundancy in the Cybertruck 48V Steer-by-Wire (SbW) dual-actuator system. One of the redundant low-voltage power feeds, communication channels (Etherloop/CAN), or dual-motor controllers on the steering rack or handwheel actuator has fallen offline, leaving the vehicle operating on single-channel fail-safe mode.
PV Overvoltage Protection Tripped
Error ERR036 triggers when the open-circuit voltage (Voc) applied to the High Voltage Solar Input port exceeds the internal MPPT controller's absolute maximum rating of 150V DC. The safety hardware disconnects the solar charging bus to protect internal MOSFETs and DC-link capacitors from dielectric breakdown.
Camera Control I2C Bus Panic
Kernel panic triggered by an unresponsive I2C/SPI slave on the Camera Control capacitive/force sensor bus, pulling down shared lines (I2C_TOUCH_SDA/SCL) and locking the display digitizer prior to a watchdog kernel restart.
Drive Inverter Loss of Propulsion
Alert DIR_a091 triggers when the rear or front drive inverter control module detects an internal silicon carbide (SiC) power stage fault, desaturation event, or critical gate driver circuit failure, forcing an emergency shutdown of the drive unit to protect the high-voltage bus.
High Voltage Solar BMS Comm Error
Error 303 indicates an internal CAN/UART communication timeout or protocol mismatch between the high-voltage solar MPPT charge controller subsystem (30-150V port) and the main Battery Management System (BMS). This failsafe disengages the DC input relays to protect internal cell blocks.
